Dr. Umona L. Sharp, PhD, CCPC

Christian Clinical Pastoral Counselor

Hello, my name is Dr. Umona L. Sharp, the CEO and founder of Stay Free Ministries, LLC. I have dedicated my life to serve men, women, and children in their quest for transformation and freedom. I have over 25 years of experience in mental health, behavioral health, and chemical dependency. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Indiana University and a Master of Arts degree in Christian Counseling from American Christian College and Seminary. I hold a Doctorate degree in Christian Clinical Counseling from Colorado Theological Seminary.

I’m affiliated with the National Christian Counseling Association as a Pastoral Clinical Christian Counselor. I’m licensed and ordained by Stay Free Today, Inc and The Turning Pointe Outreach Ministries, LLC as a Minister and Pastoral Counselor.

I serve children, adolescents, and adults suffering from any of the following:

  • anger issues
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • domestic violence
  • emotional trauma
  • financial instability
  • grief & loss
  • health ailments
  • marital issues
  • premarital issues
  • sexual trauma
  • substance abuse

I utilize my training in therapeutic recreation as a mechanism to promote inner healing, provide stress management, help for coping skills, and alternatives for negative behaviors. I use a variety of therapeutic activities such as arts and crafts in order to achieve this. These techniques are used as tools to help individuals to improve or maintain physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual functioning in order to gain a life of fulfillment.

I facilitate and organize inner healing retreats, seminars, workshops, and empowerment groups. I’m an author and a self-publisher.
